Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
- Work with supervisor to establish challenging goals, plans and objectives that support the company’s vision.
- Design, install, test, troubleshoot, upgrade and maintain servers, storage, local area networks and other IT related equipment.
- Maintain secure transfer of data across sites, business units and remote locations.
- Configure, test, debug and document device and software configurations, as appropriate.
- Support infrastructure project responsibilities by completing tasks on time as well as preparing appropriate project documentation
- Provide technical support to IT and non IT employees.
- Function as top-level escalation point for issues defined through the Help Desk
- Perform operating system, application and firmware updates in a timely and thoughtful fashion and in compliance with IT policies, procedures and plans.
- Research and recommend solutions to improve business performance and/or reduce cost.
- Perform IT activities to ensure positive results are achieved in the areas of customer service, on-time delivery and business case attainment.
- Maintain compliance to all IT policies and procedures and follow general ITIL guidelines where appropriate.
- Support a positive work environment based mutual respect, honesty, team work and continuous improvement.
- Design and architect systems to maintain 24x7 availability to address critical business and/or IT issues.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
 
- 2 year associates degree in computer science, system administration or a similar quantitative discipline
- At least eight years of successful and progressive IT experience within system administration disciplines.
- Configuration and maintenance of intrusion detection solutions, including monitoring results and formulating appropriate countermeasures
- Configure, test, debug and document device and software configurations, as appropriate.
- Proven track record of success and strong skills within the areas of personal computer and local area network support
- Participation in day-to-day IT help support process, including troubleshooting and ultimate resolution of issues.
- Experience working with IT leaders, business owners and employees to successfully deliver, maintain and support solutions.
- Experience working with modern project methodologies including Microsoft Project and/or Agile.

Overview:

Citrix and VMware experience is strongly preferred
 
Reporting to the Supervisor of Infrastructure Services, the Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting server, network, voice and mobile device platforms utilized by employees across the company. The Systems Engineer develops expert level knowledge to implement and expand the use of solutions within the company. The day-to-day effort of the Systems Engineer personifies an IT culture that emphasizes quality, responsiveness, customer service, productivity, high standards and results. The Systems Engineer is responsible for partnering with IT and business owners throughout the company to deliver superior results. The position maintains open and unbiased communication to ensure the objectives, scope and timeline of projects are maintained and issues surfaced as appropriate.
 
The Systems Engineer role requires attention to detail and accuracy, high energy, forward thinking and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements while maintaining consistent, reliable and cost effective IT solutions and services.
